Old Dog New Treats Community
July 4, 2010 – 2025
Fifteen pounds. Fifteen years. Born on the Fourth of July like she knew she was meant to make an entrance.
Ghost came home at eight weeks old and never left my side. She set the schedule for the whole house — meal times were non-negotiable, and she made sure everyone knew it. Food motivated doesn't even cover it. She was committed.
But underneath all that fierce, bossy, treat-obsessed energy was the most tender soul. She knew before anyone else when something was wrong. She'd find me in whatever room I was in and just — be there. No words needed. She always knew.
Old Dog New Treats exists because of her. Because watching her age made me pay attention in a different way. Because she deserved treats made with the same intention she brought to everything. Because the golden years aren't a winding down — they're a different kind of beautiful, and they deserve to be celebrated.
She was sweet, fierce, and completely irreplaceable. We miss her every single day.
This one's for you, Ghost.
