How soft are Old Dog New Treats?
Our treats are intentionally soft and easy to chew — designed specifically for senior dogs with sensitive teeth, missing molars, or tender gums. They have a chewy, cake-like texture that's gentle on the mouth while still satisfying to bite into. If your senior dog has struggled with harder treats, these were made for them.
How long do treats stay fresh?
Our treats stay fresh for up to 6 months from the date of production when stored properly in a sealed bag or airtight container. You'll find the best by date printed on each bag. Once opened, we recommend using within 4–6 weeks for optimal freshness and texture.
How should I store the treats?
Store your treats in a cool, dry place with the bag sealed between uses. Keep them away from direct sunlight and humidity. You can also store them in an airtight container. Refrigeration is not required but can extend freshness in warmer climates.
Why do my treats look slightly different than what's on the website?
Because they're handcrafted in small batches using real, natural ingredients — and nature isn't perfectly uniform. Slight variations in color, shape, and texture are completely normal and actually a sign that your treats are made with real food, not heavily processed ingredients. Every batch is made with the same formula and the same care. Your dog won't notice the difference — and will probably love them either way.
Are your treats lab tested?
Yes. All Old Dog New Treats formulas have been lab tested for guaranteed analysis — meaning the protein, fat, fiber, and moisture content have been verified. We take the functional claims behind our ingredients seriously and formulate with intention, not guesswork.
Are your treats grain free?
Our treats contain oat flour as a base ingredient, so they are not grain free. Oats are a gentle, easily digestible grain that provides fiber and sustained energy — especially beneficial for senior dogs with slower digestion. If your dog has a specific grain sensitivity, please review the full ingredient list on each product page before purchasing.

Are these safe for dogs of all ages?
Yes — while our formulas are designed with senior dogs in mind, they are safe for dogs of all life stages. The ingredients are wholesome, functional, and free from unnecessary additives. That said, every dog is different, so if your pup has specific dietary restrictions or health conditions, we always recommend checking with your vet.
Can I give my dog more than one formula?
Absolutely — that's actually the idea. Each formula targets a different aspect of senior health, so mixing and matching based on your dog's needs is encouraged. You can rotate formulas daily, give different ones at different times of day, or stack them for dogs who need support in multiple areas. There's no conflict between formulas.

Yes — we ship nationwide across the United States. Orders over $30 ship free. We're based in Colorado and proud of it, but your senior dog deserves these treats no matter where you are. Please note we do not currently ship internationally.
